If She Can Do It, So Can You

Hard to believe, but Jillian Michaels was once overweight. Yes, The Biggest Loser’s toughest trainer did not always look as good as she does now. Discipline and hard work has made her the person she is today, and if you apply those principles to your health and fitness regiment you can transform your life too. The Wellington has a great aerobic and weight training facility where you can get started.

The “aerobic and weight training” facility would be much more “great” if it had more than one tv that wasn’t broken (no volume, stuck on one channel, screen shattered, etc.), or if they’d fix the broken elliptical or treadmill.
Thanks so much for your report. The elliptical and the treadmill have been repaired. Unfortunately each television is set to a specific channel. Volume control can be found on the headset receptacle on the equipment for your headphones.
The “main” TV (the lower TV of the pair to the right of the single TV) does not allow for channel-changing, since the channel change buttons have been removed. However, someone has found a way of changing it somehow, because it is frequently on different channels and I have yet to find out how they are being changed (which is especially annoying when I’m doing a long run on the treadmill and the TV station is something awful). All of the headset receptacles are disconnected or broken. Are there plans in the works for TV repairs? Additionally, I would suggest putting signs up or adding to the “rules” that talking loudly on the phone or excessive/inappropriate grunting can be disruptive to someone’s work-out.
We will have Sport and Health verify the headset recepticales are repaired. We are working on a replacement TV for the one that is damaged. If we can do anything else to help please feel free to give us a call at 703.920.3112.
Hi Hi. I also posted a comment on your twitter page, but can you specifically explain why you will not be adding any free weights to the gym? First of all, you don’t even provide 8lb or 12lb weights, it’s not just guys who like to work out. Second of all, there are only 1 set of the other light weights. It makes it extremely difficult for me to have an effective workout. Would it be possible to add a set of the smaller weights, not necessarily the kind on the rack since they’re hard to workout with anyway, but maybe the aerobic kind? Also, the mats, medicine balls, and childs “play area” are all disgusting. Is this stuff ever cleaned or replaced? Thanks! ~ Neighborhood Gym Rat.
We aren’t considering additional equipment for the gym at this time, however, when plans change and new equipment is in the works we will follow your advice. The gym has also been thoroughly cleaned by our crew this week and we will make sure we pay extra attention to the mats and medicine balls. We hope you can still enjoy working out in our gym!
Hey there,
Any idea when the elliptical will be finished? It’s been very difficult to get onto it due to demand, and, if you are lucky enough to get it, you feel guilty staying on for more than a half-hour, as you know several others are waiting.
Thanks!
We are anticipating the parts to arrive in early May. They have not been available from the manufacturer.
Hi,
I don’t want to sound naggy, but are the elliptical parts still on order? It’s been broken, per the comments above, for 6 months now.
We are researching a new machine. We have been unable to get the parts.
OK. Thanks for continuing to look into it; I enjoy working out, but have a bad knee that won’t let me use the other machines.
