Catch a Showing of The Nutcracker Ballet!

Ballet tends to get a bad rap.  Between the manic breakdown of Natalie Portman‘s character in Black SwanNina Sayers, or the thoroughly hilarious rendition (more like destruction) of Swan Lake in Dennis Dugan‘s Marx Brothers styled comedy, Brain Donors, people’s perceptions of modern ballet range somewhere between Über-sophisticated art and a joke.

So, heed my words when I say that local dance theatre Ballet Nova‘s latest production of The Nutcracker has something for everyone.  A retelling of the holiday story in which a toy (Nutcracker) comes to life, The Nutcracker is displays the spirit of the holidays and draws out our inner child that delights in the fantastic.

The Ballet Nova’s production of The Nutcracker only has a limited run, extending from Friday, December 2nd (7:30pm), Saturday, December 3rd (1pm & 5:30pm), and Sunday, December 4th (1pm).

Ticket prices range between $24-$32.

The Nutcracker is being performed at the Thomas Jefferson Community Theater, located 12 minutes away from The Wellington-Arlington Apartments.
